History

Butler Pony Farm

The Old Butler Pony Farm holds a special place in the history of Thomasville. From the 1950's, children would come out to the Farm on weekends to do chores and ride.

Parents packed a sack lunch and Mr. Butler rode his truck through town, picking up kids for a ride out to the property off Hwy 202... Saturday's were an all-day affair with chores around the farm, snacks from the old vending machine and rides at sunset.

Children learned horsemanship and the lessons only farm life can teach, while parents enjoyed their day-off!

We love memories!

SADDLECREEK PLANTATION

From the 1950's, the Butler Pony Farm hosted a generation of Thomasville children who grew up riding on the old turpentine plantation. Fifty years later, the Vann family invested their heart and souls into renewing the plantation as a peaceful little farm for wildlife and equestrian pursuits. Today, SaddleCreek provides access to 1,100 acres of beautiful riding trails saddling the Ochlocknee River, conveniently located just five miles north of Thomasville, GA.
